CasinoBeats Malta Digital 2020
Every year the CasinoBeats Malta conference is held at InterContinental Malta. However, due to travel restrictions, it was transformed into an online casino conference and exhibition.
CasinoBeats Malta Digital offered a three-day conference, exhibition, and networking opportunity, but this time, in a digital form. With the partnership of GamingMalta, a non-profit foundation by the Malta Gaming Authority and the Government of Malta, the event used this technological environment to replicate the elements that make the physical conference so crucial to the industry.
CasinoBeat’s Managing Director Stewart Darkin said:
With the effects of the pandemic still being felt by businesses worldwide and the gaming market in a very different shape to the start of the year, it’s more important than ever for people in the industry to share knowledge and work together.
Darkin continued explaining:
CasinoBeats Malta Digital is the ideal platform for them to do it. We’ve had fantastic backing from the speakers, sponsors, and exhibitors due to participate in the physical event and who see the potential offered by the virtual conference and exhibition format, not least from key partners such as GamingMalta and KPMG Malta. So, we’re looking forward to delivering a great event for the 3,000 delegates set to join us.
CasinoBeats Malta Digital provided a comprehensive agenda with insights and ideas from several industry stakeholders. A breakdown of the more than 3,000 delegates included 44% operators, 30% suppliers, 15% affiliates, and 11% others. Among the list of attendees included:
- William Hill
The Three Day Agenda
All eyes and ears were on CasinoBeats 2020. The event schedule included panels analyzing how businesses have coped with the impact of the pandemic. Aside from the conferences, the entertainment schedule included slots, skill games, and live casino competitions. The following is a breakdown of some of the conferences.
On the first day of the event, attendees had the chance to find out more about “Working in Malta.” Speakers gave an update on the COVID-19 situation in the country and presented an eSports opportunity. They also shared insights into the skills shortage, resourcing challenges, and reputation management, among other things.
In the Networking Lounge, attendees had the chance to hear more about Outlook & Opportunities, and worked in iGaming post-COVID-19.
Day two, as always, was the most interesting one. Participants learned more about how the sector has managed to survive the challenges and which new technologies will be used in the future to cross-sell from RNG to live dealer casinos.

- Live Casino: At a Crossroads
Christos Mavridis, the Live Casino manager at Betano and Stoiximan, was one of the speakers. Regarding this topic, Mavridis stated the following:

Finally, on day three, attendees had the opportunity to hear more about the following topics.

Gambling Market Insights Amid Coronavirus
Aside from all the conferences, attendees enjoyed hearing about the fields of payments and regulation, as well as innovation and technology. All in all, CasinoBeats Malta Digital 2020 delivered an interesting and high-quality conference. It was the ideal platform for anyone in the gambling industry to learn more about how businesses have coped with the current situation and the next steps for the casino market.
