Churchill Downs Inc. (CDI) officially announced their entrance into the New Jersey regulated online gambling market through their BetAmerica brand. The company aims to introduce both online casino and sports betting to the expectant player pool, increasing the current market variety, as well as their own revenue.
CDI Online Casino and Sportsbook – What to Expect?
New Jersey players will be able to enjoy the highly entertaining gameplay offered by Churchill Downs US platform, BetAmerica. It is said to operate under the license of the existing Golden Nugget land-based casino, which has already partnered with the Betfair and PlaySugarHouse online gambling platforms.
There is no doubt that all parties involved in this endeavor are experienced and rather successful in their field of work. The casino games platform is expected to offer game titles from top-ranking software providers – NetEnt, IGT, Konami, Spin Games, Everi, among others.
The online sportsbook, on the other hand, will offer players the chance to place bets on football, basketball, baseball, tennis, golf, and many additional sports. These are available as pre-game betting and live sports betting options, along with a racebook and free play contests to boost variety even further. Considering the fact that Churchill Downs already has extensive experience in the race and sports betting sphere, nothing less is to be expected.
A Look at Churchill Downs Inc. in the US
The BetAmerica CDI brand has established its presence in other states across the country prior to this launch. As mentioned above, their experience in sports betting for US players actually stems from its existing partnership with two Mississippi casinos since the deal was made in May 2018.
BetAmerica’s land-based sports betting product has been made available at Harlow’s Casino Resort & Spa, as well as the Riverwalk Casino hotel in Greenville and Vicksburg, respectively. Their diverse international sporting events offer more than enough betting options for the player pool, including classic American sports leagues.
Rising Online Casino Revenue
The success they have achieved so far is evident across all parameters. In their Q3 report, CDI announced a total of $72 million revenue from the online brand, as opposed to $41 million accumulated from land-based race betting services. With this in mind, it’s only understandable that such success will push them even more towards improving and expanding their US brand.
Bright Future Ahead
The company purchased the Presque Isle Downs & Casino in Pennsylvania in March 2018, hoping to get ahead on their online license application. So far, the casino is said to start testing for its land-based sports betting segment. Although the online platform is still on hold, the progress made so far is certainly enough for a promising future.
This has also echoed in the words of CDI’s CEO, Bill Carstanjen:
We are excited to introduce our online BetAmerica Sportsbook and online casino platform to New Jersey residents. We look forward to delivering innovative, state-of-the-art products that we believe will exceed our customers’ expectations by leveraging our deep experience as the leader in online horse race wagering through our TwinSpires platform.
