Delaware Online Poker Struggles Continue

The Delaware Lottery’s online poker platform continues to struggle. The state’s three racino poker sites raked just $18.027 in June. That is more than half the amount raked in the previous June. It is $300 away from the worst month in the state’s history. That occurred in March 2017.

The low poker rake is especially surprising considering Delaware online poker networks with WSOP.com Nevada. June is the busiest month for Nevada’s monopoly poker site.

Delaware online poker players have often complained of software and support issues at the state’s poker site. Rakeback and VIP programs are also not offered, another issue cited by players as to why there are few players.

888 powers Delaware’s online poker. The same is true in Nevada, where there are also issues with support.

The news was also bad on the online casino front. Delaware’s online casinos won $144,476 in June. That was down more than 30 percent against June 2016 and May 2017.

The problems facing the casino side of the business revolve around a lack of games. There are just 12 slot titles, all of which are proprietary to 888 and not familiar to brick-and-mortar casino players. There is only one video poker game. Blackjack and roulette are the only table games spread by Delaware casino sites. There has been no major rotation of games since the November 2013 launch.

The Delaware Lottery online gaming skins are also the state’s video lottery casinos. The brands are Delaware Park, Dover Downs and Harrington Raceway. The Delaware Lottery takes a 100 percent tax on all online gaming revenues. This is another reason for the struggles in Delaware. There is little motivation to market when the state takes all revenues.
