With online gambling not being legal or regulated in Pennsylvania at the current time, SugarHouse Casino, a gaming venue located in the Keystone State, has taken it upon themselves to launch an online casino website across the ditch in New Jersey, which has regulated internet gambling. The online casino can be accessed at PlaySugarHouse.com and in addition to the main platform, a mobile app which is compatible with iOS and Android devices is available.
To enter the New Jersey gaming market, online casino operators need to have partnered with land-based casinos as service providers. SugarHouse Casino made the decision to partner with Atlantic City’s Golden Nugget, using its online casino license to offer real-money online casino games in the Garden State. The partnership is approved by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE).
The geo-location requirements established by the DGE has ensured that every online casino that holds their gaming license is only accepting New Jersey residents and citizens, and not players from other states. This is an important requirement of any licensing authority for online gaming to ensure these regulated casino sites are only offered to eligible players. Deposits can be made outside of New Jersey, but play must take place within the state’s boundaries.
New Office to Service its Customers
To provide real money casino games for online customers in New Jersey, Rush Street Gaming, the owner and developer of SugarHouse Casino, opened an office in Cherry Hill, and there are five talented people currently working there, with more to be added to the team as the casino experiences growth. The New Jersey office will be used to service its customers who are playing at their casino.
SugarHouse Casino Plans to Grow its Customer Base
The core reason for the launch of this new online casino is to expand the SugarHouse customer base.
“We are excited to broaden the SugarHouse reach to new players in New Jersey and give players more choice about how they want to enjoy their casino gaming experience”, said Rush Street Gaming CEO Greg Carlin in a press release.
It goes without saying that the State of Pennsylvania will keep a close eye on the revenues generated by the new New Jersey online casino at PlaySugarHouse.com. Internet gambling could provide a boost to the regional economy.
SugarHouse Launches Sports Betting
In 2018, SugarHouse Casino was openly proclaimed as the first operator in Philadelphia offering legal sports betting services to residents of the Keystone State. Following the official decision by the U.S. Supreme Court back in May, sports betting was officially allowed as a legal gambling service. Numerous states have since developed separate legislature to regulate the respective gambling industry segment.
Future Expansion Plans
The SugarHouse Casino is somewhat experienced in the area, considering that the Sportsbook and Casino have been operating via Rush Street Interactive on the territory of New Jersey. This state has since marked a progressive rise in sports betting, and gambling revenues in general, prompting establishments in other aspiring jurisdictions to move forward.
So far, the operator’s intentions are fully focused on retail sports betting services, limited at the north end of the property. Nevertheless, plans have been made for a fully fledged sportsbook that would be located around the Lucky Red bar and lounge.
