With online gambling not being legal or regulated in Pennsylvania at the current time, SugarHouse Casino, a gaming venue located in the Keystone State, has taken it upon themselves to launch an online casino website across the ditch in New Jersey, which has regulated internet gambling. To enter the New Jersey gaming market, online casino operators need to have partnered with land-based casinos as service providers. The partnership is approved by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE).
The geo-location requirements established by the DGE has ensured that every online casino that holds their gaming license is only accepting New Jersey residents and citizens, and not players from other states. This is an important requirement of any licensing authority for online gaming to ensure these regulated casino sites are only offered to eligible players. Deposits can be made outside of New Jersey, but play must take place within the state’s boundaries.

SugarHouse Launches Sports Betting
In 2018, SugarHouse Casino was openly proclaimed as the first operator in Philadelphia offering legal sports betting services to residents of the Keystone State. Following the official decision by the U.S. Supreme Court back in May, sports betting was officially allowed as a legal gambling service. Numerous states have since developed separate legislature to regulate the respective gambling industry segment.
Future Expansion Plans
The SugarHouse Casino is somewhat experienced in the area, considering that the Sportsbook and Casino have been operating via Rush Street Interactive on the territory of New Jersey.
