Pennsylvania casinos have announced that they have just gotten the highest gambling revenue during their nine years of operation. According to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, for the last year, ending on June 30, 2016, they have earned a total revenue of $3.23 billion. This figure comes from the combined popularity of the slot machines and table games, where each provided:
- Slot Machines: $2.4 billion, up 2 percent over the previous year.
- Table Games: $839 million, up 6 percent over the previous year.
The total gaming revenue has gone up by 3.6 percent over last year and is the second consecutive year it has risen.
Sands Casino Biggest Revenue Provider
With such a large accomplishment by the casinos in Pennsylvania, the Sands Bethlehem played a major role in the success. Being the largest casino in the state certainly helped, as it brought in a total of $228 million from table games, beating its closest competitor, Parx Casino, by a wide margin; as they brought in $155 million.
Sands Bethlehem also has just recently launched a new line of gaming machines. 150-station electronic table games (EGT) that were opened to the public on July 7. These machines offer players the same table games experience without the hassle of having to count and carry chips, while still having a dealer, everything else is done electronically. Starting the minimum bet at $5, it will be sure to bring in a lot more customers.

Year over year change was mostly positive, as the revenue generated far exceeded expectations. This looks to be an upwards trend, and with a few months left in the summer, their business may continue to boom.
