Signing Up in a Few Easy Steps
Go to the Preferred Online Casino
Simply click on any of the casinos on this page or on the review pages and you’ll be taken to the home page of the online casino. Different casinos have different processes and names, but in general, the free account link is located on the top or side of the page.
Sign Up for a Free Account
You’ll need to enter some of your contact information to set up a free account. Some players set up a separate email account on one of the free email servers like Gmail or Yahoo Mail because they don’t want to share their personal email accounts with the casinos.
If you want to do this it’s fine, but make sure you check it from time to time because once you sign up for a free account the casino will often send you offers including free play bonuses, deposit bonuses, and tournament information.
Try the Casino BEFORE Making a Deposit
Many players are concerned with putting their personal contact information into forms online, and it’s easy to understand why. The truth is that if you sign up for a free account at an online casino, they’ll market to you. They don’t want to sell your information or give it to anyone else because they stand to make more money by converting you to a real money player than selling your details.
Use REAL Information
You may be tempted to use a fake name or address when you sign up, but it’s a bad idea to do this. If you ever decide to start playing for real money you might be able to make a deposit, but if you try to take your winnings out of the casino using an account without your real name and address, you may have trouble.
Log In and Start Playing Free Online Blackjack
Once you sign up for a free account, all you have to do is log in and start playing. Most online casinos have instant play available, but some of them also have a download software platform. Once you download the package the first time, you won’t have to do it again.
Once you sign up and start playing the main blackjack game, consider checking out some of the popular blackjack variations. Some players find they enjoy games like Spanish 21 or Pontoon as much or more as the main game.
Try Different Blackjack Games
Once you have signed up, you should consider testing different blackjack games offered by top software providers to see the differences between them. You’ll find many different software platforms, so you might want to play at five or six different casinos before playing for real money to see which ones offer the best rules and house edge.
Precautions When Signing Up
The world isn’t a perfect place, but I’ve played at dozens of online casinos over the years and haven’t had any major issues with my personal information. I’m on a number of marketing email lists and a few casinos may have sold my information, but I’ve never had problems using my real information and will continue doing so in the future.
The reason this information has been included is that we don’t recommend doing anything that we don’t do ourselves. We also don’t recommend casinos where we won’t play, so you shouldn’t have any problems with any free blackjack games recommended by this website.
Playing on Your Mobile Device
For those players that want to play blackjack for fun while on the go, can play on their smartphone or tablet. The majority of the best online casinos have a mobile version available and compatible with all of the latest devices, including Android, iPhone, iPads, and more. Be sure to check out the casino directly from your mobile device to see if they offer the same services as their online counterpart.
There is no need to download any casino app, as all of the blackjack games are offered through their mobile casino version. All you need to do is log into your casino account through your phone’s browser and start playing for free or real money.
Practice Blackjack Strategy
The best way to practice basic blackjack strategy is by playing. Use a strategy chart to check your decision on every hand before making a play. You’ll quickly find that you don’t need to use the chart for most hands. Before you know it, you’ll have every possible hand memorized.
Of course, you can do this while playing for real money, but if you learn the proper strategy while playing for free you don’t have to worry about making mistakes.
Most strategy cards have the dealer’s up card listed across the top and your hand down the side. You simply find where the dealer’s up card crosses your hand and it lists your best play.
Blackjack Strategy Chart
- Hit simply means hit or take a single additional card. It’s color coded green because green means go.
- Double means to double down. Simply slide an extra bet equal to your first wager out.
- Stand means stand or take no more cards. It’s color coded red because red means stop.
- Split means split. Put your cards side by side and slide an additional bet the same size as your first bet forward.
- The H stands for a hard hand. A H5 means a three and a two.
- The S stands for a soft hand, so each one includes an Ace counted as 11. If you have a hand with the Ace counted as one you have a hard hand.
Basic Strategy Example
If you have a Jack and an Eight, you have a hard total of 18. In the event the dealer has a Six, you go down the side of the blackjack strategy chart until you find the line for a hard 18. Then you go to the right until you find the column for a dealer six. The chart says to stand. You can choose to Stand, as suggested, or follow your gut. However, those that follow their gut usually lose. Stick to the strategy and it will payoff in the end.
Using Basic Strategy is Important for Profits
The main reason learning the best strategy is important is that every situation at the blackjack table has a single best way to play. Some situations are unprofitable no matter how you play them, but by playing one way you’ll lose less money than by playing any other way.
The same is true for some profitable situations. You might be able to play them two different ways and make a profit either way, but only one way is the most profitable.
Here’s a list of blackjack books that can help you become a better player. These can help you with learning and using basic strategy, as well as expanding your knowledge and being able to count cards. See our online blackjack page and our blackjack strategy page for a free chart and more details about using the best strategy.
Practice Card Counting
Seasoned blackjack players know that the house will always have an advantage unless they find a way to alter the odds.
Most casino games are set in a way that gaining an edge is impossible without cheating. Blackjack is one of the few where a player can legally gain an edge on the house. The main way players can gain an advantage against the casino is by learning how to count cards while playing blackjack.
This information comes with both good and bad news.
The good news is that learning how to count cards is much easier than most players think. You can learn everything you need to know about counting cards on our page dedicated to it.
The bad news is you can’t get an edge against the online casinos by counting. Using the regular online blackjack software games, the deck is shuffled after each hand so you can’t get a true count. Even the live dealer blackjack games are dealt in a way that makes it impossible to get an edge by counting.
You can still practice counting while playing for free online. This way it doesn’t cost you any money and you learn how to quickly and easily keep a running count.
